Ensuring a balance between professional and personal life is part of our commitment vis-à-vis the Group’s people. In fact, it is now well-known that work-life balance measures enhance employee satisfaction and generate the best business performance.
People are the foundation of our success. We are committed to creating shared value through projects that promote corporate wellbeing, enhance competencies, protect health and safety, valorise uniqueness and individual involvement.
By listening to employees in an attentive and proactive manner, we put into practice a strategy of valorising people and protecting human rights, as described in our 2024-2028 Sustainability Plan in reference to the “Centrality of People” goal, leading to four lines of intervention – and related targets – associated with: employee wellbeing, development of competencies, people engagement, health and safety and diversity and inclusion.
The Plan also envisages objectives for our overseas companies, with a view to ensuring uniformity of treatment for all the Group’s people and contributing economic and social value to the local communities, in economic scenarios that are very different to Europe.

Ensuring a balance between professional and personal life is part of our commitment vis-à-vis the Group’s people. In fact, it is now well-known that work-life balance measures enhance employee satisfaction and generate the best business performance.
For this reason, we are committed to guaranteeing the wellbeing of our people, also through our Wellbeing & Inclusion Plan. Our Wellbeing & Inclusion Plan is based on six fundamental pillars: health, family care, supplementary pensions, economic benefits, corporate wellness and solidarity.
In 2024, for the third consecutive year, the Acea Group was awarded Top Employers Italy certification, which recognises excellence in personnel policies and strategies, for its contribution to people’s wellbeing and improvement of the working environment.
In our business, skills are strategically important to the Group’s growth. Consequently, the Internal processes for the valuation of human capital are based above all on training and development activities and on good assessment processes, with a view to creating a culture that is increasingly merit-based and encouraging our staff to aim at continuous improvement.
With this in mind, we set up the Acea Academy advanced training centre, which also provides for the involvement of internal faculties to enhance the competencies of our staff and operate an ongoing knowledge transfer. We pay special attention to sustainability skills and have therefore conceived a specialist training course and certification of people as “Sustainability Professionals” (UNI PdR 109:2024).
Our model is based on systemic dialogue, people’s participation and an efficient system of internal communication.
These are the pillars of our people engagement strategy, on the basis of which we are committed to disseminating awareness of Acea’s principles and values and strategic objectives, promoting a sense of belonging and participation and, lastly, maintaining a positive internal atmosphere, enhancing the operations of all people pertaining to the Group companies.
Our aim is to foster a widespread culture of safety throughout the Group’s companies and to enhance awareness at all levels of the organisation. We are committed on a daily basis to the prevention and reduction of occupational accidents within the Group and throughout the entire supply chain, involving our partners in initiatives aimed at improving safety performance.
In addition to ongoing training and awareness campaigns, intended above all for workers engaged in high-risk activities, we monitor actions through Audits and daily onsite checks.
Application of the principles and behaviours defined in specific Occupational Health and Safety guidelines, in addition to providing for the observance of prevailing regulations, allows us to establish high Safety standards by adopting best practices shared within the Group in order to ensure the constant enhancement of workplace safety operational management. With this in mind, in the Group companies we have implemented certified Management Systems according to international standards (ISO 45001) integrating the processes with innovative risk reduction technologies.
Our 2024-2028 Sustainability Plan also includes specific objectives for our overseas companies, aimed at standardising the treatment of all the Group’s people. In particular, for the companies operating in Perù and Honduras, we have health and safety training targets designed to promote a safety and prevention culture for our staff and the supply chain, as well as objectives concerning the improvement of specialist skills and initiatives for the enhancement of a D&I culture.
